Israel and Morocco have entered into an agreement on cooperation in the areas of defense, intelligence, military training, security, and industry.
Morocco plans to grant permission to build a military intelligence base for Israeli forces in the town of Afso, located 180 km from the border with Algeria and 68 km from Melilla, Spain.
The Israeli passport is accepted for entry into Morocco, with a visa granted on arrival. With the bilateral normalization agreement in December 2020, Morocco officially recognized Israeli statehood. Almost three years later, in July 2023, Israel officially recognized Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara.
