Manchester City is willing to renew the contract with 23-years-old forward Julian Alvarez. However, the Argentine forward with fewer chances of playing in the first XI for the club is preparing to leave Man City this summer. It is not easy for him to get into the playing XI ahead of Norwegian superstar Ealing Haaland, who has already scored as much as 33 goals this season. Therefore Alvarez is ready to move on from his current club.
The Argentine international is already refusing a proposed extension at the Etihad Stadium owing to a pay dispute, as Fabrizio Romano noted, and it appears that the Premier League winners are having trouble convincing him despite interest from Europe.
In his 19 appearances in the Premier League this season he was on the field for just 707 minutes for Manchester City. It does not need to be mentioned that he was kept as a sub in the early phase of most of the games.
According to TyC Sports journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, the longer the contract impasse lasts, the more clubs from around Europe, including Barcelona, may become interested in his talents.
